Rev. Mona Dale, Minister of Word and Sacrament

Pastor Mona has served in ministry for over 30 years.  She was ordained in 1996 and has held a variety of church positions including Minister of Music, Minister of Worship and Education, Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship on the west side of Indianapolis.  Shortly after moving to Muncie, she spent three years in social work for Delaware and Grant counties working with parents and families struggling with addiction.

She has a B.M. in Music Education from Butler University and an M.Div. from Christian Theological Seminary.  She completed coursework to become a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA) and became the pastor of St. Andrew in 2018.  

Mona is married to Andrew Dale.  They share a blended family with seven grown children and two grandchildren.  Mona sings with the Masterworks Chorale and enjoys playing a variety of string instruments in addition to reading, knitting, and hiking.

Kathryn Grile, Director of Music

Kathryn Grile has a BA and MA in Piano/Organ Performance from Ball State University. She currently teaches piano in her home studio in Royerton, Indiana. After 29 years she retired from teaching Piano Pedagogy, Piano and Theory at Taylor University where she coordinated the Center for Musical Development. Kathryn was the Director of Music at Eden Church where she retired after 44 years. She currently is the Director of Music at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Muncie, Indiana. She and her husband Mike, reside in Royerton, Indiana. They enjoy visiting their grown children and 3 grandkids. Kathryn also enjoys reading, traveling, practicing the piano and organ, and working with horses.

Robert Willey, Accompanist

Robert Willey received his doctorate from the University of California, San Diego in computer music and theoretical studies.  He worked for a technology exchange program with Argentina followed by a checkered career teaching in Brazil, the State University of New York – Oneonta, and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 

He has been blessed with a position teaching songwriting and music business at Ball State University.  After receiving tenure, he has had time to pursue community music projects like leading a ukulele singalong group at the Maring-Hunt Library and orchestrating conversations at Vera Mae’s.  He has been the accompanist and technological consultant for St. Andrew since 2019.  

His priorities are health, his two children, making music, and developing relationships.

Cheryl Underhill, Administrative Assistant

Cheryl was born in Indianapolis and is the oldest of three children. Her childhood home is Kokomo, Indiana. Historically church has had a big impact on Cheryl. Besides her family’s involvement in congregations, she is the grand daughter and niece of men who made careers as ordained ministers. She graduated from Ball State University with an elementary teacher’s degree in 1985. Cheryl married Tim in 1985 and is the mother of Abraham (1991) and Noah (1996). Two of her hobbies are cross-stitching and quilting.
