COMMITTEES

St. Andrew has several working committees that follow guidelines found in the Presbyterian Book of Order.  Committees are open to all members and regular attendees that would like to serve. 

They include:

Deacons:  

Nominated, elected and ordained by the congregation to care for the physical and spiritual needs of the church family.  Duties include prayer, visiting the sick, sending cards, making phone calls, and arranging for assistance as needed.


Congregational Nurture and Fellowship:  

Provides opportunities to gather, eat, and get to know one another.  Also arranges meals for memorial services and other occasions as needed.


Christian Education:  

Provides opportunities for study and spiritual growth for all ages including Bible study, book studies, Vacation Bible School, special events, etc.


Mission:  

Provides a wide variety of opportunities for reaching out to the community and the world with the compassion of Christ using the unique gifts of the congregation.  Organizes donations for local pantries, mentors for the local elementary school, volunteers for knitting projects, mission offerings, and more!


Worship:  

Creatively and prayerfully organizes the worship service including liturgy, music, banners, communion elements, etc.  


House:  

Maintains the building and grounds and makes recommendations for improvements, repairs, etc.  


Finance:  

Manages and makes recommendations concerning the faithful stewardship of the church’s finances.


Personnel:  

Works with the staff and congregation to ensure safe, healthy, effective, working relationships.
